Nyepi day
Yesterday was Hari Nyepi which means silence day…
They have it in
Yep yep .. it’s totally DARK EVERYWHERE… u cant see ANYTHING !!! no street lights… every shops and shopping complexes will be closed. EVEN AIRPORT is closed ! only hospitals and some of the hotels are opened.. but that also the people are not allowed to come out … then the Balinese people who are in charged of the whole ceremony will petrol the streets to see which of the houses didn’t follow the rules. For example making noise or switch lights on… and if they find out… they will give warnings by throwing stones at your doors .. windows … and call u out …scary huh ? haha..
First time experiencing it in bali … haha..
Was fun though … exciting .. scary and SPOOkY !! O.o
So let me tell out what happened in our house ? ^^
Everything was quite ok in the day time until about 6 in the evening… because till then it will be bright… so we spent our day time like normal… me and Alison stayed inside the room watching movies with our lap tops.. or read with music on … while Janani spent time with her cousins inside her room talking and playing card games… Tan joined them too …
Then, at about 6 plus in the evening …. It’s already getting dark and we were still putting all the lights on… so we got stones being thrown at our main door warning us… the guy was like “ HALO HALO !! ” like was trying to call us out and warn us… then Janani shouted and called us to switch off everything … and we stayed quiet in the dark for about 15 minutes… until when we feel that the guy has already left.. then we started our party again.. hahaha… and switched on the lights that cant be seen ( we think but actually they can be seen ) because outside was PITCH DARK .. so we continued with our activities … talking and talking… playing card games !!! really had GREAT time !!! haha… so happy !!! we played a few games which include mafia, spoon, bluff… we were all screaming and yelling at each other but didn’t realize until people throw stones and shout and give us warning…
These people came and throw stones again at about 7.30pm … this time it was quite serious… because we heard a few guys’ voices calling us out … so we all immediately switch off all the lights again … along with laptops … only holding small torch lights… then quietly gather in the middle of the living hall.. AGAIN we kept quiet for about 15 minutes… then we heard noises coming from the roof and the side door… I was really scared… grabbing janani’s hand very very tightly.. hahaha…now thinking back also feel funny… after that we went back to bed … didn’t dare to play nor make noise anymore.. hahaha.. Alison accompanied me all night.. sleeping next to me … poor Alison.. I’m so terrible! Haha… was really scared of dark.. that’s why she came and sleep with me.. basically I didn’t sleep the whole night until about 4 or 5 … I was talking stories… talking and talking… and poor Alison had to bare with my voice.. hahaha… so sorry … next day woke up late ofcourse !
haha.. yeap ! that’s about nyepi day ! REALLY scary + spooky.. hahahaha..
