I attended a seminar and workshop this morning at 8.30am..

Couldn't wake up.. because of sleeping at 4am last night!

so, i didn't really put the entire blame on him =P

So, talking about the seminar and workshop.. the title is

"Penanganan luka dan teknik menjahit luka"

yupe.. it's about basic skills on suture techniques and knot tying..

What is suture ?

In surgery, it's the closure of a wound or incision with material such as silk or catgut to fascilitate the healing process.

Basically, There're alot of surturing techniques.

But we were only taught about the basic ones..

Above is a picture of before and after being closed by interrupted sutures.

surgical suture comes in package. See the curved needle being held by the needle-holder? That's the shape which the needle is supposed to be.

This is the little package we were given before entering the seminar hall which includes the surgical suture package, scissors, needle holder, forcep and a green string. The green string is for us to practise surgical knot tying. It has a very special technique of tying the knot.

forcep to hold and support the *thread* when suturing is being done. We can't use our hands because it's all steriled.
